Our Philosophy

Each child goes through four significant learning phases in his/her schooling – Formation, Foundation, Focus, and Success. S S International School has a unique approach with ‘Phase relevant’ development goals, curriculum, and pedagogy. These phases of learning are explained in brief below:

Research proves that the first 7 years of a child are the most crucial years for learning and personality formation. The capacity to absorb concepts and learn is highest during this phase. Hence it is important to expose the child to a structured environment that will adequate and appropriate stimulus for learning.

We believe in 3 key principles for Early Learning Programs:

Supported Independence

To develop the higher areas of the brain, children must be able to experience things for themselves and feel the sense of accomplishment that goes along with completing tasks independently. To support this, adults need to allow (not force) enough time for children to try things over again. In this way, the brain is reassured that what is learned is true.

Structure & Consistency

A preschooler’s brain works to create an organization through consistency. Routines and limits for preschool children must be established and are adhered to. Preschool children’s brains have a lot of plasticities and also vulnerability to their environment, and will therefore continually adapt to what they are exposed to. An environment that is chaotic, disorderly, or nightly stressful has a direct negative influence on the development of the cortex of the brain.

Age Appropriate Tools

Early learning programs that are appropriate for a child’s developmental level provide opportunities to learn through play and hands-on exploration. Through this type of learning, children test new knowledge in a relaxed setting and then naturally relate it to existing knowledge and store the new information.
The next phase of learning in a child’s schooling is dedicated to laying the foundation of fundamental principles of learning and development – the most important principles being

Spirit of inquiry

Academic concepts

Socio-Emotional Development

Mind-Body balance

S S International School’s curriculum is characterized by breadth and balance, is relevant to the development and educational needs of children, and reflects a development approach to learning. Concepts and skills are developed through the exploration of the content of the

curriculum, and integrated learning experiences are provided to children through planning at the school level to facilitate the adaptation and interpretation of the curriculum to meet the needs of the children. Children are exposed to activity-based conceptual learning, regimental physical exercise, sports, yoga, meditation, nutritional science, role plays, nature walks, dramatics, music, literature, etc.
The third phase of learning is extremely important in shaping the future course of a child’s life. These middle years are often lost in doing more of the same (previous phase of learning) or at times going directly to the next phase. At S S International School, we believe that each child has unique inherent talents within him/her, which need to be identified, encouraged, and honed. We provide flexibility to each student to try and test their skills and abilities in a wide range of fields. Multiple assessments on multiple dimensions are carried out to ascertain a child’s strengths, weaknesses, and likely areas of success.
The final phase of school learning for a child must be dedicated to achieving mainstream success in the field of excellence identified in the ‘Focus’ phase. The results of the “Focus” phase are used in defining INDIVIDUALIZED SUCCESS PROGRAMS for each student. Students pursue a program over multiple years to enable them to able to pursue the full range of graduation options-which can include colleges, certification programs, apprenticeships, formal job training, etc. By offering multiple programs, the school encourages students to select from various themed programs in any major industry sector/field such as finance and business; engineering and technology; health science and medical technology; sports and allied areas; and arts and media, and entertainment. All the options are planned for, whether within India or outside.

We actively work with students to prepare for National and Regional competitive exams, International Undergraduate Programs (technical as well as non-technical), Special Colleges for Art, Music, and Literature, and many other potential career opportunities.
